Building your makeup kit: Top 5 Mascaras for your kit
Makeup artists love to know the inside scoop from other fellow makeup artists to learn from how they work and what tips we can pick up. It is a never-ending process of learning! This week we discuss the essential mascaras that every makeup artist should have in their kit!
Mascara is an essential part of a makeup artist kit to create different effects, each has its significant purpose! When using mascara in your kit, most of the time the brush that it comes with is irrelevant mainly due to the fact that you will be using hygienic practices ( if you don't know what I mean by this please ask) unless you are using a new one and giving it to your client each time.
5 Volume Effet Faux Cils 2 brown, YSL
Brown, the unsung hero for beauty work to create a softly defined lash look. This contains nylon fibres to bulk up the lashes, the formula coats the lashes to provide a lengthening curl whilst when dry leaves the lash flexible.
The formula provides serious volume and curl - it has polymers that shrink as it dries which holds a curl seriously well. It is quick and easy to use as it has an instant effect and the formula suitable for vegans.
3 Velvet Noir Major Volume, Marc Jacobs
This mascara provides MAYOR volume and is densely pigmented. It gives the illusion of oversized, false lashes effortlessly! The lashes look like they are coated in luxurious velvet.
2 Haute & Naughty, Mac Cosmetics
This is a creamy, velvety formula that allows you to apply as little or as much as you want to. The formula is lightweight and gives a soft feathery lash, whilst being able to build and layer generously. For personal use this a great option as it has two openings to the product which allows a natural or volume with a dramatic application of the product.

Do not be put off by the teeny tube, this is a waterproof formula with tubing technology that comes off with warm water. It creates beautifully defined lashes and is a lightweight formula that holds a curl well 💪
There you have it my essential mascara wardrobe of what I use in my kit. I want to side note that you do not require all of these, however having options always helps in your kit to provide the best product for the job.
